I would also be down to join in on this. Yet, I am not close to anyone on this site although I do have my own skill to prove. So for me, I think random teams would be best. It will allow people to get to know other members better as well as gain respect for not so much outgoing cardists that have yet to submit videos, such as myself.

It will be more fair and more people would participate. I like that idea. I just know some Dan and Daves' Moves from the Trilogy and some from Decknique. I think I would be classed as intermediate.

I don't have a camcorder but I do have an old camera. When selecting teams should we submit an uncut routine or an edited one. That is if this is really happening.

Buying a camera soon, and working on the skillz. But I would love to see everyone's stuff. I hope it happens soon, if it does. I'm tired of waiting forever for a video that keeps getting hyped...you know who you are!

how many people are expected to get this thing going? i mean, groups of 3, 14 people so far.. almost 5 groups... and as for random groups, i think it would be more fair if we each submitted a "demo" to richard and he can even out the skill levels.. or else it could easily be a blowout if 3 skilled performers decide to group up together.. :/

So far not bad, that's just under a day's worth of polling. I think I'd need at least 30 before I start considering something official...

To clarify, this poll is whether you will compete, not whether or not you want to judge the contest. The point of the contest is to push your cardistry skills through practice, especially in a group with other people.


Concerning whether or not you can choose your own groups... it's tough. Some people know each other in person and so they can do a lot more in the same frame. But there are many people who don't have that benefit.

One way it could work is this... have everybody make an introductory video that shows their stuff. Once all received and displayed, you would all have 1 week to form your 3 person groups amongst yourselves. If you couldn't find a group on your own, the judges will try to put the rest of the people together in groups of similar skill levels.
